Sage Blog – Healing from the Ground Up

As a human being and while working on this blog, I’ve realized—I need to heal my Root Chakra too.

This isn’t about getting it perfect. The truth is, you’ll never get your chakras in perfect alignment for long periods of time. Life happens. Energy shifts. What matters is awareness, intention, and returning to balance when you get knocked off center.

There’s this pressure—especially in healing work—to always be aligned, always grounded, always glowing with good vibes. But here’s the truth: The healing path isn’t about perfection. It’s about returning—again and again—to the root of who you are.

🌀 The Descent: Root First, Always

A while back, after a long day of bodywork and energy sessions, I sat on the floor of our healing space. My legs were stretched out. I was tired—spiritually tired. Not burnt out. Just… untethered.

I looked down at the red jasper stone I keep nearby and said aloud, "What do you want from me?"

The answer came in stillness: “Land here.”

And that’s what the Root Chakra is all about—landing. Being here. Feeling safe enough to be in your own body.

This symbol represents Muladhara, the Root Chakra. It’s the base of your energy system, where survival, safety, and groundedness begin. The red lotus, four petals, and downward-pointing triangle all speak to the sacred foundation you build your life upon.

🔻 Step 1: Grounding into the Body

“I am here. I am now.”

Try this:

  • Sit down. Feel the weight of your body.

  • Breathe deep into your belly—not your chest, not your shoulders—deep and low.

  • Visualize roots growing from your tailbone and the soles of your feet, anchoring you to the core of the Earth.

🔻 Step 2: Listening to the Foundation

“My body remembers. My bones hold truth.”

Many of us didn’t grow up feeling safe. Maybe the house was chaotic. Maybe love came with conditions. Whatever your version is, your Root Chakra remembers it.

It’s the chakra of survival, stability, and home. If your foundation was shaky, you may still be living in survival mode—even if everything looks “fine” on the outside.

Even healers can have ungrounded roots.

🔻 Step 3: Noticing the Signs

“I belong in this world. I belong in this body.”

Signs your root may be out of balance:

  • Digestive issues

  • Lower back pain

  • Constant anxiety

  • Money stress

  • Trouble finishing what you start

It’s not about blame. It’s about listening and responding with compassion.

🔻 Step 4: Rebuilding Your Root System

“I build a safe space within.”

Grounding isn’t flashy. It’s consistent.

Try:

  • Eating warm, earthy meals

  • Walking barefoot

  • Holding grounding crystals (like red jasper or hematite)

  • Daily affirmations: “I am safe. I am supported.”

One of my personal favorites when life feels wild: “One thing at a time. One breath at a time.”

🌳 Integration: It’s Not About Getting It Right

Chakras aren’t a checklist. They’re alive and always shifting. The goal isn’t perfection—it’s knowing when you’re off and how to come back.

And if you need help with that, we’re here.
