Myofascial Release (MFR)

A Gentle Yet Profound Path to Releasing Deep Tension

The Myofascial Release (MFR) approach I use is based on the work of John F. Barnes, P.T., a pioneer in this powerful healing technique. This therapy is designed to gently release restrictions within the fascia—the connective tissue that surrounds every muscle, bone, nerve, and organ in the body. When the fascia becomes tight or restricted due to physical or emotional trauma, inflammation, or repetitive stress, it can create tension patterns and pain that show up anywhere in the body.

MFR uses gentle, sustained pressure and long, static stretches to soften and release fascial restrictions. Unlike traditional massage, there is no sliding over the skin. Instead, we sink into the tissue and wait for it to naturally release, allowing your body to unwind and realign in its own time.

Because MFR requires direct skin-to-skin contact for the techniques to be effective, we ask that:

  • Men wear gym shorts

  • Women wear a sports bra and gym shorts

This allows us to engage with the fascia directly without the use of oils or lotions. Sessions are deeply relaxing and often bring a profound sense of release—physically, emotionally, and energetically.

Whether you're dealing with chronic pain, postural issues, or simply seeking deeper balance, MFR offers a path to healing that respects your body’s inner wisdom.
